BioPharmaPM has completed a series of live sessions every year for th past 4 years. All sessions are recorded and available on the CDs. You need 3 hours per week over a couple of months to get certified.
Anyone who registers will receive the 2010 and 2011 CDs free of charge (so you have triple the number of sessions to practice with) and be automatically enrolled in our 2012 live series of sessions.

No preparation work is required. A copy of the PMBOK 4th edition will be provided for those of you who needed one.
Each person will be able to participate in the live series of sessions in 3 different ways:
- By attending live sessions in person in San Diego.
- By attending any session remotely. Connection via a webex platform and conference call number will be available. You will connect to the live session and be able to participate, ask questions as if you were physically in the room
- Or by downloading the recording of any session and listen to it on your computer. Each session will be recorded live (including questions and answers) and made available to all participants within hours of the actual session.
- You will be able to use a combination of these methods based on your schedule

Background Information - PMI and the PMP exam
Background:
More and more life sciences companies are requiring their PMs, Clinical PMs and even sometimes their CRAs to take the PMP exam. For many it has become a mandatory requirement to move up the PM career path. For example, one of the largest US CRO is requiring all its employees to have the PMP creddential before they can be considered at a Project Manager level. There are 2 main ways to prepare for the PMI exam. You can take a week long course that costs more than $3000 or $4000 dollars and has a good success rate. The main drawback is that the knowledge retention is minimal. Or you can study over the course of about 3 months (2 to 3 hours each week) while practicing real exam questions. Success rate is the same but knowledge retention is much higher. This is what this CDs are about.
Requirements to take the exam
To be able to take the exam, PMI requires that you have 4,500 hours directing project tasks and 35 contact hours of Project Management Education. The CDs below and the live series of sessions will more than meet the 35 contact hours requirement. As far as the 4,500 hours of work experience, you do qualify as long as you have been working for about 3 years. The BioPharmaPM CD includes a detailed strategy guide explaining how to complete the PMI application and how to strategize for the exam.
PMP Preparation CD
The CDs now includes questions from the latest (2011)PMI revision to the PMBOK. Anyone purchasing the CDs will be guaranteed a seat in the 2012 live series of sessions at no additional cost.
Cost
The cost for exam materials, software licensing for the webinars, webex webinar data access is $791 dollars per person. You will not find a cheaper option to prepare for the PMI PMP® Exam. An invoice will also be provided for accounting purposes.
Goal:
Our goal in providing you these CDs is to enable BioPharmaPM members (as well as their friends/colleagues) to prepare for the PMI PMP® Exam at a relatively low cost while minimizing time involvement and maximizing PMBOK® knowledge retention. You will need no more than 3 hours each week for 3 months.
